For those of you unfamiliar with Beacon, NY it’s home to the Dia: Beacon, RIggio Galleries which houses an amazing collection of art form the 1960’s to the present (http://www.diabeacon.org/). The town also has various other galleries that all co-ordinate their openings, so you get to visit once and see a ton of great art!
Beacon is about an hour and a half north of NYC, easy to reach by train or car. If you’ve never been, I really recommend making the trip, checking out the Dia, then all the galleries on Main street and ending at ours for some beers! It’s a great day trip escape from the city.
